March 13, 2018 The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) at Purdue will have several events during the Spring semester for students interested in research. 3/20: Promote Your Research to Peers & Experts – Develop a “research elevator pitch” to communicate your work to various audiences. This skill is valuable for poster presenters and “Celebrate…” presenters. 3/27: Create/Design a Poster Work Day – Get assistance with your poster and project it to get feedback from others in the room. 3/29 (WALC 2007) & 4/5: Poster/Presentation Practice Sessions – Feedback sessions before “Celebrate Purdue’s Thinkers, Creators, & Experimenters” and the Undergraduate Research Conference. 4/24: Showcase Your Research Online – Translate your research and presentation skills onto your social media to benefit you. October 11, 2017 During our next meeting we will have a resume/CV workshop! Bring a current resume or CV along with any questions that you may have! We will discuss items to include on this document for beginner, intermediate, and experienced researchers along with ways that you can gain experiences to add to your CV. PUPR meets on Monday evenings from 6:00 - 7:00 PM in WALC 3148.
September 21, 2017 During our next meeting we will talk about some of the different research areas within psychology, and the Purdue faculty affiliated with those areas. We will also discuss how to efficiently read scientific journal articles. As always, we will also have a discussion session where anyone can ask anything about applications or research.
